| Description : | From the series of sixteen drawings entitled Misuse is Abuse. "The "Misuse is Abuse" series, looks at the relationship between the "white liberal" and the Indian. The relationship is seen as equal and supportive, the "white liberal" is our friend. The "white liberals" see themselves as "pure" not racist and on our side. Are they really? This series deals with stereotypes, the white liberal, a woman with fangs, long sharp fingernails, and pointy shoes. The Indian is a doll, long braids, no face and small. The relationship between the "white liberal" and the Indian is a complex one, one where the "good" white and the "good" Indian meet. Out of this "goodness" and "purity" develops a struggle for the Indian voice to be heard over the white voice speaking for the Indian. "Misuse is Abuse" does not tie the issue up neatly nor does it offer solutions. It is a narrative with no beginning and no end."
