| Description : | Overhanging cornice tapers inward to top of bookcase. Twelve rectangular insets along inside of bookcase for adjusting shelves. Three shelves. Bogus top drawer pulls out and down to serve as writing desk; rectangular inset* on inside for writing surface. Three full-length drawers along bottom. All drawers have two mushroom pulls, one brass key escutcheon. Two hinged doors on bookcase have sixteen clear glass panes which are framed with triple moulded finish wood. Brass key escutcheon on door with scroll pierce work key in lock. Center door frame is edged in triple convex moulded brass. Skirt at base. Four bracket feet. Dark brown. Graceful curves on skirt. Panes are diamond shape, pentagonal and two irregular four sided shapes; concave moulding at base of bookcase. Drawer pulls have two incised concentric circles on front; drawers are flush beaded. |
