| Description : | Large fireplace fender with brass rails; Rectangular base, flat plate with small piece on the front (rectangular with angled sides). Large slate ? cubes in corners (two along back and one in each corner) and back with triangular (cross-sectional) bar joining each cube. Brass tubes run along top of the triangular bars. Second rail of brass tubing above first, fixed on to ornate brass fixtures on top of cubes, with balls at each joint or support for the tubing. Ornate brass fixtures have wing-like decorative supports coming out of their sides and joining to the second rail of tubing. On brass fixtures (top and sides) - star motif (both engraved and separate pieces) scalloped edges on base of brass. Decorative supports have holes of various sizes drilled through. Star motif screwed on sides of cubes. |
