| Description : | Yellow softwood rocker; the back of the chair has a sloping or curved back which was designed to fit the contours of the body, back approx 60.0 cm long, the top band which joins the 2 sides of the frame is 7.5 cm long, the top has scalloped top and concave bottom, there are 5 vertically placed splates which join the top band and the back portion, diameter of splate 1.52 cm, 21 cm high, these splates have been turned to resemble vase, ring and bulb, the cane backing is slightly scalloped, the seat has rounded corners and concave and convex indentations on the front frame, the seat is also done in cane work, the legs are curved and tapering, 26 cm long, the 2 sides have 2 stretchers each, the back one and the front has a band stretcher 4 cm wide, the two pieces of wood which form the rocker are 74 cm long, 4.5 cm high, 2.5 cm wide. Yellowish-cream colour. |
