| Description : | Rose and wine coloured silk dress, separate bodice; Made of rose colored silk and wine colored silk. Bodice: rose colored silk from shoulders down center front in narrow V, pleated lengthwise towards bottom. Rose ruffle attached to each shoulder. Rose silk flower below right shoulder. Rest of bodice in wine colored silk. Black lace ruffle along seam on either side of rose V. High stand up collar. Long set in sleeve with high puffed shoulder. Black lace ruffle around sleeve edge. Closely fitted by two front darts and tapered back pieces. Nine stays hold shape of waist. Front center opening closed by twenty-five alternating hooks and eyes. Alteration: pink cotton blend covered in ten black lace ruffles basted to left side of front opening. Skirt: full length, longer at back. Made of wine colored silk with rose colored pleated and flared silk band inset down right hand side. Pocket in side seam of rose piece. Black lace ruffle along seam on either side. Waist shaped by four tucks at waistband. Fullness closely gathered at back with black, full length, bustle-like attachment inside. Back bustle piece tied around waist by two strings. Waistband fastens around bustle piece by button and buttonhole. Floral and scroll pattern on wine colored silk. Gender Association woman |
