| Description : | Medium coarse-textured, natural-coloured barkcloth; repetitive plant design annd decorative pattern in red-brown pigment which has saturated in places to thhe underside of the cloth. Design is presented in 7 rows, each separated by a band of parallel lines; intricate plant patterns alternate between branches ppointing upwards and those pointing downwards. The word 'Aneiteum' appears on one panel of the design. Sides edges of cloth are serrated; the two non-serraated edges appear to be cut off, suggesting that this was part of a larger clooth. |
