| Description: | Larger than life size Maori carving of one of their fertility gods playing the flute. The figure is kneeling with its head bent foreward. Both hands are on the flute, the flute being bent at the top. The head and legs are the most noticably carved as are the knuckles of its hands. The figure's stomach protrudes and it has an unnaturally large head. In the middle of its chest where a gap in the wood occurred, a different piece of wood has been inserted. Brown. |
