| Description : | Ecclesiastical silver. The ciborium has excellent proportion, yet is not a particularily elaborate piece. The cast cross on the domed cover is well formed and surmounts a gilt orb. The plain raised bowl has an applied band below the rim. The stem has a baluster shape, the base domed and splayed. There is a dentilated band at the base, rim of bowl and in the acutely domed centre of the cover supporting the cross. The ciborium is classical in its simplicity. |
