| Description : | A calumet with sharp angled L-shaped red stone bowl and crude whittled wood stem; pipe bowl (a) is cylindrical and has small vertical notch carved at the elbow of the "L"; pipe stem (b) is roughly whittled from a tree branch (probably poplar) with a narrow round mouthpiece carved at one end, and round dowel joint carved at other to join to bowl; dowel joint charred and wrapped with a piece of paper from a magazine to tighten joint; hole drilled through length of pipe stem. |
