Résumé
Recently, German scholar Carsten Thiede ignited theological debate with the 'Jesus Papyrus' three fragments of the Gospel of St. Matthew first discovered in the late 19th Century. Thiede offered startling new evidence that the writings date back to 70 AD, the Eyewitness Period - within just 40 years of Jesus Christ's death, If Thiede's claim is true, it would disprove the widely held belief the gospels were written from oral accounts after many years or even many generations. Thieds's theory offers new credibility the scriptures were not simply legend, but fact, written by those who physically witnessed Jesus' preaching, miracles, death and resurrection.
