- Résumé
- This research project surveys computer software for their appropriateness to art conservation and archaeology, and for their effectiveness as interpretive and reconstructive media (mosaicing and edge matching). The software selected is tested by attempting to reconstruct an ancient wooden table, the so-called Mosaic Table, recovered from Tumulus P at the archaeological site of Gordion, Turkey, as well as a modern pottery vessel. Both, two dimensional and three dimensional approaches are evaluated to better process the image information.
