- Résumé
- Pugin was the most influential designer in nineteenth-century Britain. As the architect of cathedrals, parish churches, schools, colleges, and private houses, and in particular as one of the two designers of the new Palace of Westminster, Pugin did more than anyone else to make Gothic Revival the national style in Britain. Pugin was also a prolific product designer, creating furniture, metalwork, silver and jewellery, textiles, wallpapers, and books in an integrated and coordinated approach to design that revolutionised public taste.
