Résumé
Focuses on the properties and characteristics of a polyphenolic protein adhesives, Cell-Tak, which is extracted from the Marine mussel Mytilus edulis. The mollusk uses this protein to attach itself to substrates in the marine environement. The goal of this project was to discover a possible use for this polyphenolic adhesive for temporary consolidation in conservation, taking advantage of its strength, waterproof nature, neutral pH, and potential reversibility.
