- The author compares 37 Roman fresco pigments of first century AD wall-paintings from Britain to those from Cyrenaica using X-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis (DTA). Results indicate that painters in both areas had similar application techniques, used similar pigments and mixed pigments in a similar manner
