- Résumé
- A study on organic solvent based solutions for disinfestation of polychrome wood panels. An outline discussion of wood degradation caused by wood-boring insects is followed by the function and classification of disinfestation treatments. The search for an ideal insecticide is described in relation to the chemical composition of the various structural materials of the panels, qualities required of the insecticide, and its use in prevention or cure. Discusses some available commercial products and describes possible methods for applying solutions to both the panel and its location, as well as the laboratory tests carried out on selected solutions. A solution of 1% lindane in xylene was used for treating already infected materials. Preventive treatment was carried out using the above solution with an addition of 5% Paraloid B-72.
