Description: | Red cooler with white "Drink COCA COLA" logos on front and sides. It has silver/chrome trim and a silver lid hinged in the middle with handles on the far left and right sides. There is a bottle cap remover on the front right-hand side near the top, but the cap drawer underneath the opener is missing. The cooler is on wheels. |
History of Use: | The cooler was used in a general store in South Williamston, Annapolis County, operated by Harry Hatt from 1943 until approximately 1963. Harry Hatt (son of John Hatt) took over the store after his uncle Asa Beals passed away in 1943. Mr.Beals bought the T.G. Bishop store in South Williamston in 1924 and moved it to the corner of the Crisp Road. He operated the store until his death in 1943. |
