Description: | Part A is a display cabinet that is brown in color and has glass on three sides. Part B to L are mounted taxidermic specimens. Part B is a common rabbit, Part C is a shrike (bird), Part D is a cedar wax wing (bird), Part E is a snow bunting (bird) Part F is a Wilson snipe (bird), Part G is a red winged black bird, Part H is a mouse hawk, Part I is a mounted owl that is grasping a dead squirrel in its talons, Part J is a hawk, Part K is a mount consisting of two black birds. One is a plain black bird while the second is a red winged black bird,and Part L is a yellow hammer or flicker (bird). |
Narrative: | This specimen mount, from a display of 11 different mounts of birds and animals, belonged originally to the donor's father, Mr. Field. The mounts (Acc.No. 83.1352B-L) were contained, originally, in a display cabinet (Acc.No. 83.1352A). |
