Narrative: | Hon.T.A.S. DeWolf was born in Wolfville, 1795, the fourth son of Judge Elisha and Margaret (Ratchford) DeWolf. He married in about 1817 his first cousin, Nancy (Crane) Ratchford. Mr DeWolf represented the Co. of Kings from 1837 to 1848 and was made member of H. M. (first) executive Council in 1838 from which he later resigned and subsequently made Collector of Customs. He and Nancy had fourteen children. He died in Wolfville in 1878. |
History of Use: | This is a studio portrait of Thomas Andrew Strange DeWolf, taken in his later years. The carte de Visite has been framed in a hand made cardboard mat. The photograph was originally in an album. |
