Description: | Rectangular muff with an opening at each end for the hands to go through. There are two kinds of fur on the face, a short haired black fur in the centre (seal?) and brown long haired fur at each side( martin?). On the back the muff is faced with shirred silk satin lining and there is a metal zipper with a ring toward the top to form a purse. Inside the zipper opening is a small change purse with brass frame which is attached with stitching to the back pocket. There is a one inch long tie on the right hand top corner. The muff has a stuffing. |
Narrative: | Mrs. Marjorie Andrews was wife of Thomas Earl Andrews of Waterville, Kings Co. formerly of Halifax and Montreal. |
History of Use: | Miss Marjorie Bently bought the muff form and completed the muff for her trousseau. It was never used as it was out of style by the time she got married to Mr. Andrews. |
