Description: | This is a studio portrait of three young girls. The studio name is printed on the mounting board. |
Narrative: | Harriet, Edith, and Frances Fitch. Theodore Harding Fitch (93.4.3) had three daughters with these names - Harriet (Hattie), born 1876 in Canard; Emma Edith (Edith), born 1873 in Canard; Frances (Fanny) born 1876? in Canard. These may be his daughters, although there were a number of Fitch girls with the same names. An Edith Emma Fitch married a Harley Coleman Newcomb in Niagara Falls in 1900, which is perhaps the connection with the donor. The clothing styles are Victorian. |
