Description: | Boot Jack; wood, pine (?); rough wood, basic design; plank of wood cut with an inward "v" at one end and tapered with a small hole at other; attached below is a small rectangular piece of wood, which raises one end of the jack when placed on the floor |
Narrative: | Boot jacks were used to assist people in the removal of their boots and other foot wear. Boots would be removed by placing one foot on the platform while the other heal of the boot is placed into the "v" shape and with pressure and upward motion, the boot is removed. This jack originates from the western area of PEI. |
