Description: | India rubber (probably) lacrosse ball. Has a coating of lighter rubber or paint that was originally a light cream colour that has faded to a dirty dark yellowish hue. Stamped on the surface is a blue diamond inside which is lettering: VICEROY/(illeg.) LACROSSE (partly illeg.). Approx. Dia.: 6 cm ORIGINAL |
Narrative: | According to the donor, this lacrosse ball was used by his uncle, Elgin Anderson of Preston. Elgin Anderson was born c. 1900, and probably played on a lacrosse team in Preston. |
