| Description : | An oval-shape milk jug with a handle. It is pink with a gold strip around the edge of the picture. A black and white picture ot the Church of England Catheredral, St. Johns, NL is on the front with the words beneath. The picture on the jug was done by a process known as transfer printing. Transfer printing involved the application of oil and colouring oxide to a dish containing the design. Tissue paper was then pressed against the dish and the coloring oxide was transferred. The paper was then placed on another dish thus transferring the pattern. Black was one of the most common colours used in this process. |
