Description : | A brown timber dog or holding dog with spikes on both ends that were used by shipbuilders and carpenters. It was used to hold a piece of timber in position, especially round timber, which was being sided (chopped) with a siding axe. It was also used in the logging industry to hold logs rigidly together when transporting to the saw mill. |
