Description : | The artifact is a brown wooden bird jigger. It is round and has 15 hooks attached to it. The jigger was used in retrieving seabirds shot down by hunters who were hidden on shore. The bird jigger was tied to the end of a fishing line. It was sometimes thrown a distance of 50ft. towards the dead bird floating on the water. With an accurate cast by the hunter the bird is hooked and hauled to shore. |
