| Description : | The artifact is a sampler that is displayed in a brown and gold frame. It is done with green, black and gold lettering. It has the alphabet, numbers 1-11 and Burnell, aged 13 years, Trinity school, Newfoundland 1839 written on it. Embroidered is " Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. How sweet the name of Jesus sounds in a believer's ears! It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds and drives away his fears." There are flowers on both sides of the sampler. Burnell is written on the back in pencil. |
