| Description : | A brown wooden handle with an iron attachment at the end known as a slob hauler. The hauler is wide at the top and narrow towards the bottom resembling a bent arrow head. They were made from a piece of flour barrel head, the straight edge of which was between fifteen and eighteen inches long. The slob hauler was used to assist a boat through a sea-covering of heavy, slushy ice and snow. |
