Description : The artifact consists of nine brown wits of different sizes. They are attached with a string. A wit is a band, tie or shackle consisting of rope or a tough flexible twig or branch that is twisted together to form a circle and used for various purposes such as to hold an oar to the tole pin of a boat or to form the entrance to a lobster pot.
Commentaires : According to the Newfoundland and Labrador dictionary the name of the artifact can also be spelled as follows: weft, wet, wift,withe or with.
