Description : | The artifact is a black iron kettle. It has a gooseneck spout and a wrought iron handle has been added. On the bottom is engraved "No1=G1/2 Pints" and a diamond symbol with the letter L. There are chips taken off around the lid opening and white paint on the spout. These kettles were used for boiling water on stoves or over open fires. It was used in the latter 1700's-early 1800's. |
