| Description : | A brown slob hauler that has a V-shape attached to a long iron shaft. It was made by a local blacksmith. A long wooden handle would be attached to the iron shaft. When a boat (usually called a punt) could not be rowed through new, tough, salt water ice, known as "slob ice" an equal number of men on either side of the boat, using a slob hauler, would haul the boat through the ice to open water. |
