| Description : | The artifact is a jointer plane. It is a wooden rectangular block .The plane has a square opening near the center for an iron blade or bit and a wooden wedge. This artifact is also known as a "floor plane" and was used for fitting or joining. It was handmade and the bit or iron was made from an old file. The handle is missing and the wedge is broken in two pieces and held together by a screw. The initials G.O. are engraved on the top. |
