Description : | A photo of "The S.S. Tavernor" in a white frame with gold trim. The donor of the photo is a relative from Delta, B.C. The S.S. Tavernor was one of many ships which Ben Tavernor captained. Ben Tavernor received his 'Master' Certificate on January 11th, 1911. He served on many ships as 'Mate' and 'Captained' many as well. "Captain Ben," as he was commonly called, was known for his instinct ( combination of skill and experience with a sixth sense ) for navigating the treacherous coastal waters around the Province. |
