| Description : | The artifact is a smoothing plane. It has a rectangular shape with a blade through the middle that is secured by a wedge. The shortness of this plane adapts for finishing uneven surfaces. Because of its small size it can get into minor depressions of wood without taking off to much material. The initials R.A.T. on the side and R.M.P. on the bottom. It was used by carpenters for shaping and planeing wood. |
