Description : | A decorative blue and white cup and saucer-like dish with gold trim. This type was widely used in England in the 1700's. The cup and saucer-like dish were used in serving coffee which was drunk after pouring the coffee out of the cup and into the saucer-like dish. The dish do not have a depression in the centre which is found in the conventional saucer. The saucer-like dish was also used for serving soups and porridge. A gold color seal on the cup reads "The British Antique dealers for Customs purposes only certified the product prior to 1847. |
