Description : | Rectangular stone, a message in black lettering on one side. All of the writing can not be made out, but the second row is as follows: "TO HIS BEAST IS KIND / BUT HE THAT'S CRUEL / SHOWS A BRUTISH MIND / 1890" Two short metal posts on the bottom of the stone. |
Fonctions : | Found in the backyard of the O'Dell House Museum behind the Carriage House, by the men (Darren Orde) cleaning up the mess (leaves, branches, fallen trees) left by a storm. This could possibly have been a grave marker that was attached to another piece of stone. Catholic Cemetery is adjacent to the O'Dell Museum, as well there were Catholic and Methodist Churches nearby. |
