February 5, 1920 While the female hockey fraternity of Antigonish have not furnished the expectant public with an exhibition of their skill, reports from an authoriative source indicate that progress is being made at any rate.  As announced some time ago, two teams, the Ice Sickles and the Fleetfoot have been formed, and now their uniforms have arrived, they are ready for serious work.  The Icicles are looking for games with outside teams, and if the rink can be secured for next Wednesday night will play the Glace Bay girls who are coming across the strait for a return match with New Glasgow. February 12, 1920 The largest crowd that ever witnessed a hockey match in Antigonish packed the rink Tuesday night when the New Glasgow ladies team defeated the Ice Sickles of Antigonish by a score of 3 2.  This was the first contest for the locals and the first occasion for the team to play together as a unit, and they are well satisfied with their showing.  They were captained by Miss Zina Cameron who is a neat stick handler and a wicked shot.  She was well supported by the whole team, though probably the most effective were Miss Theresa Sears and Miss Mary Hanrahan, who showed extraordinary  energy all through the game.  The star of the visiting line-up was Miss Cassie Cullen, who is a strong and speedy skater but somewhat weak as a shot and given to loafing offside. Shortly after the game commenced Miss Cameron rushed though the New Glasgow goal and scored.  A little later, however, Miss Cullen evened matters up for the visitors, and no further scoring took place in this period.  In the second section Miss Cullen tallied almost directly from the face-off, but a minute later Miss Cameron notched another for the home team, and this period also ended with the score even.  The playing on the home stretch was fast and rough, with both teams working hard.  Miss Cullen finally scored from a mix up and with five minutes to play the Ice-Sickles started out to pull into the lead.  They kept the play within the opponents territory but were unable to find the net and the game ended with the visitors ahead.  Hadley MacDonald officiated gallantly and diplomatically with the .. New Glasgow.  After the game the visitors were entertained to dinner and a dance till train time.  The teams lined up as follows: New Glasgow:  Goal:  Mrs J P Noland; Defence, Mrs J McGrath,  C MacDonald; Forwards, C Cullen, R MacDougall, A Chisholm. Ice Sickles:  Goal, Annie Laurie MacDonald; Defence, Anna Bell McDonald, Mary Hanrahanm;  Forwards, Zina Cameron, Theresa Sears, Girlie Sears, Ayah MacGillivray.
