Description : | This is a long sleeved, hemmed baby gown. The neckline and cuffs have pink and blue floral embroidery. The French seams were done by machine but the hem and finishing were hand stitched. The opening on the back consists of 3 metal snaps. |
Commentaires : | Infant baby gown taken from the home of Charles MacQuarrie, on Queen Street, Truro, Nova Scotia. This handmade infant gown, was made in the style that was popular for infants at the time of its creation. The style was a back-fastening gown worn by girls until age twelve or fourteen, and by boys until they were switched to pants, at age four to seven. |
