Description : Christening gown of fine ribbed cotton with eyelet trim an insert, ribbon tie at back neck, long tie (180cm long, 4cm wide, last 7cm trimmed with lace and embroidery) at waist. Front bodice: center insert of eyelet lace featuring 2 1/2 hearts, bordered on each side by a white panel edge with embroidery and an eyelet insert of 5 flowers; This piece is set into the front piece with bodice sides and long skirt; Tight gathers at waist covered by eyelet. Ties stitched at side; Back bodice: 2 pieces from shoulder to hem; Waist is gathered with closely places gathers and held in place with a backing, creating a casing; Edge is decorated with embroidery; Buttonhole stitching around opening of pocket; Ties threaded through pockets; Sleeves: Long, wrist edge trimmed with eyelet and embroidery; V-shaped cap at top of sleeve edged with eyelet and embroidery; Lace insert of 4 eyelet flowers at top of sleeve; Neck edge: Trimmed with lace; Ribbon threaded through casing at top to gather neck; Lower edge: 2cm lace trim, topped by 6cm wide hem and 2 1cm wide pin tucks.
