Commentaires : | Uniform worn by Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, Frank T Stanfield. Stanfield was a prominent businessman in Truro and was active in the political arena. He assumed the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia in 1930, and died in office in 1931. The uniform was given by the Acadia Trust Company, the Executors of the Estate of the late Frank Stanfield (Sr.) to Mrs. Lenore Bigelow due to her interest in costumes. It was placed in the temporary custody of the Nova Scotia Museum with the understanding that when a museum was opened in Truro, it would be returned. A special case was built to display the uniform, and for many years it was on exhibit in the Colchester Historeum. |
