Description : | This fine cotton dress is white with a string-bound neckline with triangular fabric points. These points are also on the short, puffy sleeves and the hemline of the bodice. The skirt has tucks over the hem in sets, with the bottom set of having three tucks, the middle having two, and the top having one tuck. The opening centre tucks are 33cm with no fastenings other than the drawstring at the neckline. |
Commentaires : | Belonged to Sidney Clard 1861-1933. The gown could have been his baptismal gown. Card reads: Preserved by his mother, Jane, his wife, Mary, and daughter Gertrude. His grandson wore it once for a picture when he was approximately 1 year old or less. |
