Commentaires : This metal key rack holding five keys featues a brass tag indicating that the keys belong to Riverton School, Pictou Co. N.S. CA. This school was built at Fish Pools (Riverton) in Pictou County. The plan for this schoolhouse was taken from plans issued in 1864 by the Superintendent of Education, Mr. T. Rand. The deed to the original school site is dated 1868. The school was moved twice in the Riverton area. It was closed as a school at the end of the 1968 - 69 year. In 1976 it was moved to Truro to become the Little White Schoolhouse. The keys were found by the donors on the site of the school after it had been moved to Truro. Four of the keys are flat, three made in Belleville Ont. by the Corbin Cabinet and Lock Co. One key has a hollow stem.
