| Description : | Wooden spinning wheel is a flax (or wool) wheel and is complete with distaff to hold flax; sit's on three spindle's with a foot pedal attached to 2 of these spindle's; on top of these spindle's is a thick solid platform that hold 2 spindle's with a wooden wheel balanced on a metal rod in between them; wheel is attached to foot pedal by metal fitting's and wooden rod; opposite end of wheel on platform is an arm that extends out with a dispatch that hold's flax; this flax consist's of 6 small wooden rod's that are bowed to fit around a circular wooden disk. Meaning they begin at a point together, bow out where disc is in the center, then come to a point at the top. |
