Commentaires : | The moustache cup and saucer was invented around 1830 by Harvey Adams of Longton, Stroke-on-Trent, England. In the Victorian era, almost all men sported a moustache. But with their fashionable moustaches came problems. Their died, waxed, and curled moustaches often drooped into their tea and coffee. The Adams invention sported a ledge, called a moustache guard, across the cup. The guard had one semi-circular opening against the side of the cup. As the gentlemen sipped through the opening, their moustache was spared by resting on the guard within. |
