| Description : | Mat; Wool; Hooked; Large mat approx 5'x3' Mat shows the church from the front/right side. There are two trees in the artwork and also the words "Rustico PEI / 1838-1938". The mat depicts the church as it was at the time the mat was made. In later years the windows in the tower were removed because of leakage around 1985 |
| Commentaires : | This rug was won in a lottery held on occasion of 100th anniversary of St. Augustines church in August 1938. Hooked by Lina Gallant, wife of Johnny (George) Gallant. Located on 2nd floor of Bank. The mat was won by Yvon Dionne who kept it in the family for years but then donated it in 1982-1983. Yvon is the sister of Edward Blanchard, a long standing board member of the Farmers Bank Museum. |
