Description : Relic cross is cast in stainless steel and highly polished. Tip of each arm of cross has a rounded end cast in bud formation. A circular ring is inserted at top of cross. Back of cross is plain. Front of cross is centered with a hollowed out shape which holds a small relic of S. Guilelmi Ab placed on a diamond shaped paper. A small horizontal strip of paper printed with name is glued under the relic. Opening is lined in red fabric and is covered in glass. Outer edge of circular opening is cast in a scalloped edging. Tiny enamel tiles are used to create pictures of four different structures in Rome, Italy, one picture inlaid at the end of each arm of the cross. On the vertical arm, just below circular opening with relic, are 3 floral designs, two red with a blue in the center, also created using enamel tiles inlaid on cross. At foot of the flowers, is the word ROMA printed in white on a black background. Two vertical strips of blue tile accented with a white edging, encloses the floral design on either side. The structures on ends of horizontal arms of cross and top vertical arms of cross are complemented by blue accent strips adorned with white stars which extend to the center circular opening. The plywood case is made in two rectangular shapes covered with red leatherette and joined together with two brass hinges. A narrow gold colored accent strip extends around edges of top section of case. A small brass clasp type closure is used to close case on edge at front center. On the interior, the cover is lined in red rayon fabric glued at edges to case. Bottom section of case is lined in a piece of lightweight cardboard sealed with red vinyl adhesive paper. A firmer piece of cardboard , covered in red vinyl adhesive , is attached to front bottom of case and can be lifted up and down. On back of this, a cardboard stand also covered in red vinyl adhesive paper is attached to the top and creates an easel type display. Front of this stand is covered in red rayon fabric which is gathered and tucked over surface. A small red velvet hook attached near top is used for hanging cross. On top center edge of this display stand, a loop made of red ribbon has been glued in place and can be used to lift stand from the case. Both Certificate A and Certificate B are written in Latin; and confirm authenticity of the relic. These certificates are folded and placed under stand in case.
