Description : | The flower frog is made up of two parts - a circular bowl base and a component (the flower) that sets into the bowl. The base is a small bowl with an overhanging lip and a detailing along the inner circle of the bowl. The smaller top part is seperate from the base and has 11 circular holes in it which are arranged in a star shape. |
Commentaires : | Frogs were most popular during the 1920s and 1930s, but some were in use centuries before and a few are produced today. They were most commonly made of glass, but were produced in metal, ceramics, and other materials. |
Fonctions : | The flower frog was used in the home to display flowers. Flower steps were put through the holes in the frog and placed in a bowl. Some, like this one, had a bowl base, while others consisted of just the frog (the piece with holes), and could be placed in any container. |
