Description : Black metal machine operates by hand crank. Crank operates through gears. There is provision for a belt drive. Hinges on bottom to attach to wooden base. Elaborately decorated with gold paint and mother of pearl rosettes.
Commentaires : The company started manufacturing in Germany in 1864 and continued until today, although the company was taken over by other owners. It became one of the best known makes in Britain and remains so.
Fonctions : This machine was used in the shop of dressmaker Vetta Lapointe Faulds, originally of Nash Creek.
