Description : | This is a long coat with two rows of three metal buttons on the front. The left shoulder bears a silver metal badge. The buttons have the emblem of the United States Army. |
Commentaires : | E. E. McGarvie became a nurse and joined he U. S. Army toward he end of World War II. She sailed for Europe, but the war there ended before the crossing was completed. She later served in Korea and Viet Nam and at various places in the United States including the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington. She retired in 1970 as a Lieutenant Colonel, the highest rank attained by any Canadian woman serving with the US Army. |
