| Description : | it has no cover it is a plastic case with a geometric design on the back. the portrait is of a youngish man in a costume of approximately 1860, nicely arranged in a scrolled set in gilt paper with a gilt outside frame and a line of red leather where the cover would have met. one of the melicks or one of their relatives from saint john. henry melick the watch maker - silver smith and jeweller became an expert maker of this type of early photograph and case. |
