Description : made from two different types of silk material plus cotton lace, lace sleeves and lace inset, double draped bodies with hooks and eyes and snap closure on the back, bell-shaped skirt with finer silk skirt which has four types on bottom over first skirt. (mhm 19910829)
Fonctions : belonged to mary louise watson (nee jewett), 1882-1953. she lived at 632 george street, fredericton until her marriage to harold archibald watson in 1916, when her parents gave her the house on the corner of george and regent street 204 208; (rebecca watson lives there now) their children john archibald born 1917 rebecca elizabeth born 1919, robert alder born 1921 harry macgowan born 1923, rebecca watson found the collection of clothing in two trunks which had been stored away by her mother mary louise. she believes they may have been part of her mother's wedding trousseau.
